Smokers Are Prone To Around 25 Diseases

According to a WHO report, a smoker can get approximately 25 ailments and around five million deaths are reported every year due to smoking. Despite this shocking figure there is no abatement in number of people beginning this habit.

The most common diseases that are linked with smoking are various cancers, heart attack, lung trouble, respiratory problems etc.

Smokers in 30s and 40s are five times more likely to have a heart attack than non-smokers. Tobacco, which is present in the cigarette, thickens the arteries that restrict the blood flow to heart resulting in heart attack. These heart attacks require complicated bypass surgery.

A smoker who smokes all his life has 50 percent chances that he will die because of smoking-related disease and many of such deaths will be premature deaths.

So, it’s always better to come out of this habit as quickly as possible, which is easier said than done. But stopping smoking will be very easy if you try to keep your self busy with work or you are in your friends company.

It has been often seen that people smoke when they are idle and alone. So if you are able to take care of these two contributing factors then they think half the battle is won. For rest, you have dozens of smoking cessation pills available in the market to cure this stubborn habit.

Some of the popular drugs that help in kicking this habit are Champix, Chantix and Zyban. These are drugs that are highly recommended by the doctors for patients who want to quit smoking.

Chantix is one such anti-smoking pill widely in use by smokers. Manufactured by Pfizer, Chantix is a prescription medicine designed to partially activate this system while displacing nicotine at its sites of action in the brain.
