Stress Management During Bodybuilding

Stress during bodybuilding is best handled through positive thinking. This is geared towards enhancing the stages one goes through in a bodybuilding activity. The enhancement occurs in a number of ways. For instance it improves ones approach and with it comes more confidence that their goals will be realised. This also shuns negative thinking, which in turn helps the bodybuilder to see the progress he is making. In the case of lack of progress, one is able to cope more easily through positive thinking. The extent to which negative feelings affect the progress of a bodybuilder in overwhelming as it may often result in accidents, blunders and seemingly careless mistakes. This is the natural result of poor concentration and impaired thinking.

The human brain is the organ at the very core of any human activity. Once your thoughts have been preoccupied with negative thoughts during an intense exercise the mind ceases to see the emergency of must be achieved at the moment. Controlling the destructive effects of stress

Harmful effects of stress can be reduced or done away with in a number of ways. we must though, start by acknowledging that each one of us is always under one form of stress or another. It is part of coping with life and if well managed, can drive one towards success. In fact what determines how successful one is in life depends one the stress management strategy employed.

We go through familiar positive stress events which are as basic as talking and eating, which we can’t avoid. We also encounter negative stress in equal measure this is called distress. The trick is to use the positive stress as a stepping stone towards managing negative stress.

Some activities only increase our stress levels in the guise of reducing or controlling it. These activities may have something to do with drinking, thinking negatively constant arguments and inquisitiveness. These activities increase the levels of the hormone cortisol which is responsible for all stress-related problems such as constriction of blood veins causing high blood pressure and triggering of the fight flight phenomenon. Simply put, cortisol eats protein tissue and facilitates the accumulation of fat under the skin. It thus becomes a hindrance to the bodybuilder’s fitness.
